Village in the Shade Daily & Weekly Checklist
A good routine is a short status check, not a mandatory chore list: check today's date and weather, crops that may need care, owned animals, finished outputs and urgent deadlines, then spend the remaining time on your current goal. Specialist guides own the mechanics.
Normal gifts
1 / day · 2 / week
Friendship gift reset
Monday
Season structure
28 days · 4 seasons
Daily essentials
- 1. Check date, weather and active crops.
- 2. Check animals and priority villagers.
- 3. Collect ready outputs, requests and deliveries.
- 4. Choose one useful Stamina goal.
- 5. Store, ship and prepare before sleep.
Frequency key
Every day means a status check or repeatable action when the system exists.
Check if applicable means readiness, goals, stock, weather or progression decide whether you act.
Weekly / periodic means do not create a fake daily reset.
Authority rule
This page answers “should I check it today?” Specialist guides answer how crops, animals, friendship, machines, shops and Midnight actually work.
Beginner priorities →Daily start
Morning Checklist
Check today's date and weather, then inspect the systems that can change overnight. This is a status pass, not a rigid timetable.
01
Date and weather
Check the current state: Clear / Sunny, Rain, Thunderstorm, Snow. No forecast window is assumed.
02
Crops
Harvest ready plants and water only where the Farming rules still require it.
03
Animals
Check care and pet target animals once per day when pursuing Affection; collect only products marked ready.
04
Machines and errands
Collect finished batches, review urgent Requests and reserve Chief Delivery items when relevant.
Greenhouse, Paddy, Ridge, Sprinkler, feeding and production exceptions remain on their specialist pages. This morning loop never means “water every tile” or “collect every species daily.”
Every day
The repeatable daily loop
These are the routine's everyday checks. Several are conditional in practice, so read the badges and notes rather than treating them as universal chores.
Check the date and today's weather
Use the current in-game date and weather state before choosing crop care, travel or a possible night objective. The guide does not assume a forecast.
Open owning guide →Check active crops and harvest what is ready
Water only where the Farming rules require it, harvest mature crops and check the remaining season days. Field, Paddy, Sprinkler and Greenhouse rules stay with Farming.
Open owning guide →Check livestock care and pet target animals
Pet each target animal once per day when raising Affection. Check feed and housing state without inventing a missed-feed penalty.
Open owning guide →Check feeding needs and the relevant Feed Box or Hopper
Feeding is a real husbandry system. Check the Chicken tutorial Feed Box flow or the documented Large Livestock Barn Hopper boundary; exact quantity, timing and missed-feed effects remain unresolved.
Open owning guide →Talk to priority villagers
One conversation per day is a useful Friendship rhythm. Do not turn every villager into a mandatory route.
Open owning guide →Store, ship and prepare before sleep
Store important materials, deposit intended shipments and prepare the next goal. Shipping settles next morning; there is no mandatory bedtime or exact-zero Stamina rule.
Open owning guide →Spend remaining Stamina on today's useful goal
Using remaining Stamina can improve efficiency because sleep restores Stamina, but reaching exactly zero is an option, not a daily requirement.
Open owning guide →Check if applicable
Choose only what today's save needs
Readiness, goals, weather, stock and progression decide whether these actions belong in the current day.
Water crops where manual watering is still required
Rain waters ordinary outdoor fields in the shared model. Paddy, Ridge and Greenhouse behavior must not be generalized from that relation.
Open owning guide →Collect livestock products that are actually ready
Collect only products marked ready. Turkey Egg is Every 3 days; Cashmere is Every 5 days; Truffle remains Daily.
Open owning guide →Collect finished processors and reload useful batches
Check by the actual recipe timer. Do not assume every machine is daily, that output spoils, or that machines auto-restart.
Open owning guide →Check useful villager Requests and urgent errands
Request availability, rewards and deadlines belong to Requests. No fixed daily refresh is claimed.
Open owning guide →Reserve items needed for Chief Deliveries
Chief Deliveries are a separate progression system, not ordinary daily villager Requests.
Open owning guide →Give a normal gift only when a target has allowance remaining
The shared Friendship model allows one normal gift per character per day and two per week. Birthday Gifts are separate.
Open owning guide →Visit a shop only for a current need
Check whether the required vendor is open before routing across the map. Do not visit every shop every day.
Open owning guide →Check roads and gathering areas when forage may have returned
Forage is useful Stamina support and is described as returning on a multi-day cycle, but the exact respawn interval is not verified.
Open owning guide →Fish when a seasonal, Catalog or money goal makes it worthwhile
Fishing is optional. Check season, weather and time for a target species instead of treating it as a required final chore.
Open owning guide →Mine when ore, gems or Quarry progress is today's goal
Mining is a goal-based Stamina outlet; floor and resource details belong to Mining.
Open owning guide →Hunt when a license, material or Catalog goal is active
Hunting is conditional on the current goal and license, not a mandatory daily activity.
Open owning guide →Reserve tonight for Midnight only when a needed condition is active
Midnight is not an every-night routine. Check the Night and Weather authorities for availability, anomalies, safety and combat boundaries.
Open owning guide →Before Sleep
Close the day without inventing a mandatory bedtime
Use the evening to protect tomorrow's plan and decide whether a night opportunity is actually worth the risk.
Store
Keep scarce materials and items reserved for Requests, Chief Deliveries, Cooking or upgrades.
Ship
Deposit intended sales in the Shipping Box. Settlement is next morning, not immediate.
Shipping Guide →Spend Stamina
Use remaining Stamina on a useful goal when time allows. Sleep recovery makes this an efficiency choice, not a rule to hit zero.
HP & Stamina →Night decision
Reserve Midnight only for an active Shade-mode objective. Do not explore every night by default.
Time & Sleep → Midnight Guide →Weekly / periodic
Counters, timers and rotations
These reminders prevent missed opportunities without pretending that every system resets each morning.
Check Sap Collectors on their rolling cycle
The shared Sap Collector record uses a three-day rolling cycle. This is a machine interval, not a wild-forage respawn rule.
Open owning guide →Cut and replant trees according to Wood demand
Forestry is periodic. Keep the wood type you need in rotation, especially scarce Hard Wood, without inventing a regrowth timer.
Open owning guide →Check Fish Ponds when fish or capacity changes matter
No fixed daily breeding cadence is canonical.
Open owning guide →Check for visible Bird Bath drops when pursuing seed completion
No fixed daily drop interval is canonical.
Open owning guide →Check rotation-sensitive stock during a planned shop trip
Seasonal, progression and rotating stock are separate from shop closure days. Do not invent an inventory refresh schedule.
Open owning guide →Gift allowance
Normal gifts: 1 per character per day and 2 per week. The current reset is Monday. Birthday Gifts are separate.
Machine cycles
Sap Collectors use the shared 3-day rolling cycle. Other processors remain recipe-specific; wild forage does not inherit this interval.
Forestry
Cut and replant by Wood demand. Exact tree regrowth timing is not promoted as a universal rule.
Trees & Wood →Seasonal
End-of-Season Check
Use the calendar when a fixed date or season boundary changes today's priority. Seasonal overrides belong above the routine.
Prepare for the seasonal Contest on Day 27
Each season has one Contest on Day 27 from 10:00–16:00. The Contest guide owns divisions, entries and rank rules.
Open owning guide →Check the next festival and prepare only what it needs
Festivals have their own dates and rules. This checklist does not create a universal Day 28 event.
Open owning guide →Check crop completion and seasonal goals before the boundary
Count remaining days and compare each crop's own growth rule. Greenhouse, multi-season and protected-crop exceptions remain with Farming.
Open owning guide →Contest Day
The current calendar has one Contest each season on Day 27, 10:00–16:00. Prepare the entry beforehand and choose one division at the event.
Festivals & Contests →Crop boundary
Do not plant long crops blindly near Day 28. Compare crop-specific growth with the remaining days and keep Greenhouse or multi-season exceptions separate.
Year 1 Calendar →Weather opportunities
Rain, Thunderstorm and Snow are different states. Check the Weather authority before reserving a night opportunity; no forecast UI or fishing bonus is assumed.
Weather Guide →Mode Boundary
Shade and Sunshine are not interchangeable data sets
The daily rural loop is useful in both modes, but the checklist only promotes mode-specific tasks where the repository has a clear record.
Village in the Shade
Full current routine boundary
Crop care, livestock, Friendship, processing, shops, seasonal events and conditional Midnight planning are represented. Midnight remains a goal, not a nightly obligation.
Village in the Sunshine
Rural systems remain relevant
The safer mode preserves the reason to check crops, animals, villagers, machines and events. Exact parity for Midnight, anomaly collections, reward routes and all routine systems is unresolved; Shade-only cards are not copied here.
Sunshine mode guide →FUTURE: the announced 2026-09-29 free update and 2026-10-27 Western language/update boundary are excluded from this current checklist. Do not plan around Farm Expansion, Furniture Catalog or future livestock until those records are live.
FAQ
Daily routine questions
What should I do every day?
Check the date and weather, active crops, owned animals and priority villagers; collect anything ready; then choose a useful goal before storing, shipping and preparing for sleep.
Do crops need attention every day?
Check them every morning, but only water where the Farming rules require it. Rain and Sprinklers can change the work, and crop growth remains crop-specific.
Should I talk to villagers every day?
Talk once per day to villagers whose Friendship you are actively raising. You do not need to route through every villager every day.
How often can I give gifts?
The shared Friendship model allows one normal gift per character per day and two normal gifts per character per week. The normal weekly counter resets Monday; Birthday Gifts are separate.
When does the weekly gift limit reset?
Current Friendship evidence places the normal gift reset on Monday. This is a game-week reset, not a rolling seven-day counter.
Should I pet livestock every day?
Pet each target animal once per day when raising Affection. Collect products only when they are ready; not every species produces daily.
Should I forage every day?
No. Forage is worth checking periodically because current guidance describes a multi-day return cycle, but the exact wild-forage respawn interval is not verified.
Should I fish every day?
No. Fish when a Catalog, money or seasonal species goal makes it worthwhile, after checking the relevant season, weather and time.
Should I use all my Stamina before sleeping?
Using remaining Stamina can be efficient because sleep restores Stamina, but reaching exactly zero is an optional efficiency choice, not a game requirement.
Should I run processing machines every day?
Check finished batches and reload a useful next batch when ready. Machine timers differ, so there is no universal daily collection or reload rule.
Do machines lose output if I do not collect immediately?
Output holding, spoilage and automatic restart behavior are not verified. The safe checklist wording is to collect completed outputs when convenient.
Should I cut trees every day?
No. Forestry is periodic. Cut and replant according to your current Wood demand, especially when Construction needs scarce Hard Wood.
What should I check before the end of a season?
Count the remaining days, compare each planted crop's growth rule, check protected or Greenhouse exceptions and review seasonal fish, events and other goals.
What should I do on Contest Day?
Contest Day is the 27th of each season, from 10:00–16:00. Finish ordinary chores first, then use the Contests authority for divisions and entry preparation.
Should I check every shop every day?
No. Check a vendor only when you need seeds, progression stock, food, licenses, construction or another service, and confirm its current closed day first.
Should I explore Midnight every night?
No. Midnight is conditional and Shade-only in this routine model. Reserve the night only when the required anomaly, collection or progression condition is active.
What changes in Village in the Sunshine?
The calmer rural routine remains relevant, but exact cross-mode parity is not fully verified. Do not copy Shade-only Midnight tasks into Sunshine.
What should I do before sleeping?
Store important materials, deposit intended shipments, check whether a useful machine batch can start, spend remaining Stamina if time allows and decide whether tonight has a valid Midnight objective.
For relationship errands, use the Villager Schedules & Locations lookup; it keeps normal presence separate from event timing.
