Foraging & Gathering Authority
Foraging & Gathering Materials Guide
Seasonal gathering materials, locations, source methods and uses. Wild gathering changes heavily by season: Spring focuses on mountain herbs, Summer adds wild fruit, water-surface items and insects, Autumn has nuts, Akebia and Matsutake, while Winter has a smaller set. Tree drops, sap, weed drops and animal traces remain separate year-round source systems.

wild records
The seasonal pool is smaller, with Goji Berry and Winter Raspberry currently indexed.

Separate source systems
Year-round gathering materials
These records are useful, but they are not one generic ground-forage pool. Source method and owning guides matter.

Sap Collector outputs are tree-attached resources. Their shared machine mapping uses a three-day cadence; that is not a wild forage respawn rule.

Grass Seed is used by the canonical Chum recipe. Grass Root has no resolved downstream use in the current repository.

Buried Coin and animal traces are kept outside the Wild Plants table. Their counter, quest and Catalog boundaries are unresolved.
Area-level availability
Foraging by location
Area names are not exact spawn points. This page uses canonical location IDs where the repository has them and keeps external concepts such as Riverbank or Water Surface visibly unresolved.

Unresolved location labels: Pheasant Hunting Ground, Water Surface, Trees / 樹木, Riverbank, Near Bamboo, Paddy Embankment. These labels are displayed as source notes only. No coordinates or fake map pins are created. Use the Map & Locations guide for navigation and landmark ownership.
Respawn
How fast do forage items come back?
Several-day cycles are reported for wild forage, but no universal exact number is canonical here.
Every gatherable record in this dataset has respawnDays: null. There are no item-specific or node-specific values to publish, so this guide does not say daily, every two days, every three days or every four days. Collect forage while moving through areas you already need to visit, then check again on a later route.
Do not mix systems
Sap has a different clock
Sap Collector timing belongs to the machine and its tree mapping.
The shared Sap Collector records support a three-day collection cadence for supported tree outputs. That cadence is intentionally shown only in the Sap section and linked Sap Collector guide, not generalized to wild herbs, fruit or insects.
Reserve before selling
Forage to save for Fox Shrine
This list is derived from the shared Fox Shrine offering records. The gathering page maintains no second offering matrix.

For round order, Fox Shrine location behavior and rewards, use the Fox Shrine Offerings guide. The current shared Spring example contains Warabi; this page does not silently replace it with another plant.
Uses and priorities
What to keep, eat or sell
Use relations are objective where the repository has a shared item relation. Unknown does not mean useless; it means the current data has not proved the use.
Stamina and food
Stamina recovery is item-derived where a shared resource record provides it. The current records do not support a universal recovery value, and raw forage is not given a general HP-restoration claim. Use HP & Stamina and Cooking for recovery rules.
Confirmed progression uses
Fox Shrine requirements, the Grass Seed Chum ingredient and shared Sap Collector downstream relations are marked from canonical data. Akebia, Loquat and Walnut also preserve separate Wild Bird source relations.
Requests and Helping
Special Purple Flower and Tōki objectives belong to Helping Tickets, but the current request data does not classify them as ordinary seasonal forage records. They are therefore not inserted into the Wild Plants table.
Open Helping TicketsLong-term counter
Living off the Land: 500
山菜採り is the shared platform achievement mapping for Village in the Shade.
The canonical condition is 500 forageables gathered in Shade mode. The repository maps the threshold to wild-plants-collected, but does not identify the included acquisition categories. In particular, insects, tree fruit, sap, weed drops, animal droppings and Buried Coin are not assumed to count merely because an external database groups them under 採取物.
Catalog and completion
Collect by source, then check the Catalog
The shared Catalog model has a broad resources category, not an item-level forage registration map.
Seasonal items are recoverable on a later season or year, so a missed spawn is not labeled permanently missable. Item-level Catalog membership is currently unresolved; AppMedia's category is not substituted for an in-game Catalog category. Use Catalog and Completion Roadmap for completion ownership.
Mode boundary
Village in the Sunshine
The current forage dataset is Shade-only.
Whether Sunshine uses the same seasonal pool, whether source methods change, and whether postgame changes availability are all unresolved. No Shade Midnight behavior or alternate Sunshine forage rule is copied into this page. Compare mode rules in Village in the Sunshine.
FAQ
Foraging questions
What can you forage in Spring?
The current canonical Spring records are Fuki Sprout, Mitsuba, Tara Bud, Bracken, Horsetail, Dandelion and Bamboo Shoot. The page keeps unresolved external area labels separate from canonical map locations.
Where do you find Matsutake?
Matsutake is an Autumn wild-plant record with Mountain as its canonical area and a shared sell price of ¥300. No profitability ranking is claimed because respawn timing is unresolved.
Where do you find Akebia?
Akebia is an Autumn wild-fruit record in Mountain, Mountain Path and Village. The shared Bird Drop data also preserves a Wild Bird source, so the alternate acquisition does not replace seasonal gathering.
How often do forage items respawn?
A several-day cycle is reported for wild forage, but the repository has no universal exact number or per-node respawn values. Do not turn Sap Collector's three-day machine cadence into a wild-forage rule.
Which forage should I save?
Reserve items that appear in the shared Fox Shrine offering records, and keep anything with a confirmed recipe, bait or other progression use before selling extras. Exact Catalog membership and some downstream uses remain unresolved.
What counts toward the 500-forage Achievement?
The shared achievement condition is Living off the Land, 山菜採り, at 500 forageables in Village in the Shade Mode. The current data does not identify whether insects, tree drops, sap, weed drops, animal traces or special pickups increment it.
Does Village in the Sunshine use the same forage pool?
The current repository does not confirm parity between Village in the Shade and Village in the Sunshine. The public dataset is therefore Shade-only and does not copy Midnight or Shade behavior into Sunshine.
