Village in the Sunshine Guide
Village in the Sunshine lets you enjoy farming, livestock, fishing, hunting, home decoration and village relationships without being able to break the code of Kagatsu Village.
It is selected at the beginning of the game and is designed for players who want to focus on the peaceful side of Village in the Shade rather than deliberately entering the rule-breaking path tied to its darker mysteries.
Current mode boundaries are separated from subsystem parity questions that still require specialist evidence.

Quick Answer
What Is Village in the Sunshine?
The mode keeps the core life-simulation loop, but blocks the rule-breaking path that connects to the village's darker side.
What you can still do
Village in the Sunshine keeps the daily rural systems intact so you can focus on the calmer parts of Kagatsu Village.
- Growing crops
- Raising livestock
- Fishing
- Hunting
- Home decoration
- Village relationships
What remains unresolved
- Whether every dark reference or mature theme disappears from dialogue and worldbuilding.
- Exact achievement and trophy parity by platform.
- Whether every route and collectible remains accessible.
How the Mode Works
The mode is selected when the save is created and cannot be changed during that playthrough. Start another save or playthrough if you want to experience the other mode.
The mode prevents actions that would directly violate the village code. The rules still exist as village lore; Sunshine simply does not use the normal violation path.
Recommended on-page notice
Village in the Sunshine is selected when starting the game and cannot be changed later in that save.
Horror Content
Does Village in the Sunshine Remove the Horror?
The mode removes the normal rule-breaking horror-event route while leaving residual dark-content questions evidence-bounded.
Confirmed answer
Players cannot break the village code, and the normal horror-event route does not occur in Sunshine.
Still unconfirmed
- Zero horror imagery
- Zero disturbing dialogue
- Zero unsettling music
- Zero story tension
- No references to dark events
- No frightening character scenes
- No mature themes
This mode-level statement concerns the normal horror-event route. It does not prove that every dark reference, backstory, image, mature theme or unsettling line is absent from all content.
Story and Progression
The normal rule-breaking main story does not progress in Sunshine. After the shared introductory setup, the mode is designed around ongoing rural-life simulation rather than Rule I–VIII, Sacred Treasure, Great Hole or the normal ending route.
Mode Switching
Players cannot switch modes later or convert an existing save. Pick the mode when creating the save; start another playthrough to experience the other mode.
Farming and Content Limits
No farming restrictions have been officially announced. The peaceful-life presentation suggests the main farm systems remain available, but exact crop lists, animals, fish, recipes and festival access still need direct testing.
Nighttime items may be missable because the official midnight information connects lost items with late-night exploration. Village in the Sunshine may alter access to those items, but the publisher has not explained how.
Achievements and Completion
Steam achievements are supported, but it has not been confirmed whether Village in the Sunshine affects achievement unlocks, 100% completion, or the availability of every character event and hidden item.

Choose How You Want to Experience Kagatsu Village
Village in the Sunshine is a strong option for cozy-game players. Its fixed mode choice, disabled rule-breaking, absent normal horror/story route and lack of a normal ending are current boundaries; achievements, nighttime item sources and fine-grained parity still require specialist evidence.
