Gathering & Collection Guide
Insect Catching Guide
Bees, Beetles and Stag Beetles have different evidence boundaries. This page is the canonical route for the verified Summer tree records, Yuta's Bee ×5 Helping Ticket, capture-method limits and the current respawn conflict.

Verified roster
The current insect roster is intentionally small
Two insects are shared seasonal gatherable records. Bee is a scripted Helping Ticket collection record and is kept separate from the ordinary forage pool.
| Item | Japanese | Context | Season / location | Sell | Capture status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beetle | カブトムシ | Seasonal gatherable | Summer Trees / 樹木; exact tree entity unresolved | ¥600 | Tool, direct interaction and flee behavior: Unknown |
| Stag Beetle | クワガタムシ | Seasonal gatherable | Summer Trees / 樹木; exact tree entity unresolved | ¥600 | Tool, direct interaction and flee behavior: Unknown |
| Bee | ミツバチ | Yuta Helping Ticket | Spring Helping Ticket context; not a proven general seasonal spawn Mountain area north of the Hunter's Lodge, with the current route describing five Bees across the upper clearing and left-side narrow area. | Unknown | Tool, direct interaction and flee behavior: Unknown |
Roster boundary: no additional insect species are promoted here without a shared item record or a clearly scoped quest record. The two normal records come directly from Foraging & Wild Plants; Bee belongs to the Helping Tickets route.
Bug Net / capture method
The interaction is not yet safe to over-specify
The current evidence uses catch or collect language, but it does not provide a canonical tool record or complete control sequence.
Bug Net
Not represented
No separate Bug Net item, recipe or tool requirement is currently represented in the shared repository. That absence is not treated as proof that no tool exists.
Direct interaction
Unknown
The exact approach, button input, hit window and pickup confirmation for Bee, Beetle and Stag Beetle remain unresolved.
Flee behavior
Unknown
Do not infer a flee timer, stun state, missed-capture penalty or guaranteed node behavior from the current tree label.
Practical rule: use the documented area and season, bring the normal gathering setup you already use, and record the exact interaction from an in-game test before treating a net, swing, timing window or flee rule as canonical.
Bee / Yuta Helping Ticket
Collect Bee ×5 for Yuta
Bee is a quest requirement with a route grouping, not a confirmed general-purpose seasonal insect record.
Current route
- 1. Go to the mountain north of the Hunter's Lodge. This is the current area-level route label.
- 2. Search the upper clearing. The guide route reports 3 Bees there.
- 3. Check the narrow area on the left. The route reports 2 more Bees.
- 4. Return to Yuta and report the delivery. Visit his home the next day for the Beehive recipe follow-up.

Summer tree insects
Beetle and Stag Beetle
Both normal insect records currently resolve to Summer and a tree context (樹木). The tree entity and capture sequence are not yet normalized.
カブトムシ
Beetle
- Location
- Trees / 樹木; exact tree entity unresolved
- Sell price
- ¥600
- Time / weather
- Unknown
- Capture / flee
- Unknown
- Known uses
- Sell; Yuta gift record
The current Japanese item list and money guide also describe these as insects found on trees that cannot be felled with an Axe. That is preserved as source evidence; it is not upgraded here into a complete tree interaction or spawn rule.
クワガタムシ
Stag Beetle
- Location
- Trees / 樹木; exact tree entity unresolved
- Sell price
- ¥600
- Time / weather
- Unknown
- Capture / flee
- Unknown
- Known uses
- Sell; Nago gift record
The current Japanese item list and money guide also describe these as insects found on trees that cannot be felled with an Axe. That is preserved as source evidence; it is not upgraded here into a complete tree interaction or spawn rule.
For a broader route, use Gathering Materials. For the ¥600 comparison and other sale routes, see Money Making.
Beetle respawn reconciliation
Do not lock the guide to one refresh number
The sources describe different layers of the same behavior, and the current patch notes do not resolve the difference.
| Evidence layer | Current wording | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Japanese money guide | Approximately one week for respawn. | Reported external guide wording |
| Player testing | Daily morning placement/map-level roll is reported in player testing. | Player-tested report; source URL not normalized |
| Shared repository | respawnDays is null for both Beetle and Stag Beetle. | Canonical public value: Unknown |
Safe route: The exact Beetle respawn model is unresolved. Current sources disagree between an approximately weekly respawn and a daily map-level spawn roll. The difference may reflect a same-node cooldown versus a map-level generation pool, but that distinction is not proven. Check the area again on a later route instead of planning around a fixed timer.
Weather & time
Known filters are limited
Only the broad seasonal context is stable enough for the normal insect records.
Beetle / Stag Beetle
Summer
Tree context is supported. Exact time-of-day and weather requirements are unknown.
Bee
Spring task context
The route is tied to Yuta's Spring Helping Ticket. Rain restriction is reported by a player guide but not independently verified; exact time is unknown.
Mode
Shade baseline
Sunshine parity, postgame changes and future-version behavior are not copied into this guide.
Wild Herb Gathering Technique
The 25% duplicate-gather chance has a boundary
The Shrine record is useful context, but it does not prove an insect effect.
野草の採取術 / Wild Plant Gathering Technique
25%
25% chance to gather two items instead of one.
The repository does not prove that the skill duplicates Beetle, Stag Beetle or Bee collection. It also does not prove that it changes the five-item Yuta requirement. Keep this as an unresolved applicability boundary and use Skills for the full Shrine record.
Achievement boundary
Living off the Land: 500 forageables
The shared counter is wild-plants-collected, but the included categories are not itemized.
The repository maps wild-plants-collected to 500 forageables. Whether normal insects or the Bee quest collection increment the counter is unknown. Do not use an insect total as a completion guarantee.
Catalog boundary
Resource category, item status unknown
A broad Catalog category is not an item-level registration proof.
The shared boundary keeps insects under resources resources, while item-level Catalog mappings remain unresolved. The external Japanese category 採取物 is not substituted for a game-internal Catalog flag.
Open Catalog GuidePrices & uses
Sell Beetles only after checking your route needs
The shared data is stronger for Beetle prices than for Bee resale or downstream collection behavior.
Beetle
¥600
Confirmed shared sell price. A Yuta gift relation is also represented, so keep one if you are following gift records.
Stag Beetle
¥600
Confirmed shared sell price. A Nago gift relation is also represented; the page does not claim a universal best-money ranking.
Bee
Unknown
The current canonical use is Yuta's Bee ×5 Helping Ticket. Bee sellability, replacement after selling and other uses remain unknown.
Troubleshooting
When the route does not work
Use the evidence boundary before changing the claimed mechanic.
I cannot see the Bees
Confirm the mountain route north of the Hunter's Lodge, search both the upper clearing and left narrow area, and check the Helping Ticket state. Exact time, rain behavior and post-quest replacement are not confirmed.
The Beetle is not on the tree
The shared location is only Trees / 樹木 in Summer. Check the surrounding route later; no exact node, time, weather or fixed respawn value is canonical.
I am looking for a net recipe
The current repository has no separate Bug Net record. Do not substitute a hunting Trap, Fishing Rod or Sickle without an in-game/source confirmation.
Can I sell the Bee?
Bee resale and replacement behavior are unknown. Preserve the five-item Yuta route until the Helping Ticket is complete.
FAQ
Insect catching questions
Which insects are currently verified?
The shared repository records Beetle and Stag Beetle as Summer insect gatherables. Bee is recorded separately as Yuta's Helping Ticket requirement, not as a normal seasonal-gatherable row.
Do I need a Bug Net?
No separate Bug Net item or recipe is currently represented in the canonical repository. The available sources say to catch or collect these insects but do not establish a tool requirement, so the direct interaction remains unresolved.
Where are the five Bees for Yuta?
The current route is the mountain area north of the Hunter's Lodge: three Bees in the upper clearing and two in the narrow area to the left.
Can I find five Bees every day?
No permanent daily replacement rule is established. The five Bees are modeled as a Helping Ticket collection requirement; before/after quest availability and respawn behavior are unknown.
Can rain prevent Bee collection?
A player-guide route reports a rain restriction, but that condition is not independently verified in the current sources. Treat it as a route check, not a confirmed universal rule.
Where do Beetles and Stag Beetles appear?
Both shared records point to Summer and a tree context (樹木). Exact tree entities, interaction steps, time and weather are not confirmed.
How long until Beetles respawn?
Current sources conflict between approximately one week and a player-tested daily morning map-level roll. The repository therefore leaves the exact respawn model unresolved.
Do Beetles sell for ¥600?
Yes. The shared Beetle and Stag Beetle records both carry a ¥600 sell price, supported by the current Japanese item list and money guide.
Does Wild Plant Gathering Technique duplicate insects?
The Shrine skill is documented as a 25% chance to gather two items instead of one. Its application to Beetles, Stag Beetles or the Bee quest collection is not confirmed.
Do insects count for Living off the Land or the Catalog?
The achievement counter is 500 forageables and its insect inclusion is unknown. The resource Catalog category is broad, but item-level insect registration is also unknown.
Are the same insect rules used in Village in the Sunshine?
Sunshine parity is not established. This page uses the Village in the Shade baseline and does not copy a mode rule that the repository has not verified.
