Livestock Guide & Animal Database

Use this page as the live reference for animal identity, juvenile forms, prices, growth, housing, products, production cadence, color variants and progression boundaries in Village in the Shade.

Short answer: buy the correct juvenile form from Chinana, place each species in its compatible housing, then keep product cadence and Contest progression separate. The current baseline has 9 live species and does not treat September 29 announced stock as current inventory.

Keep product categories exact

Egg, Duck Egg and Turkey Egg are separate item records. Milk and Goat Milk are also separate inputs. Truffle is found or dug up in the current wording, not laid. Horse Tail belongs to the separate Horse authority.

Reserve branded goods

Branded Milk ×5, Branded Egg ×5, Branded Truffle ×5, Branded Wool ×5, Branded Horse Tail ×5 and Branded Cashmere ×3 are part of the High-Quality Goods delivery chain. Do not process reserved items until carryover is confirmed.

Current patched guidance requires two Livestock S-Rank results.

Earlier versions had an unlock bug on some platforms. Check the latest game update if the animal does not appear. Some sources phrase this as S evaluations across livestock types; this page follows the current two-result guidance without inventing a stricter type requirement.

Care and quality boundary

Affection, Mood, feed and housing are separate systems

The database points to the owning authority so values do not drift between pages.

Affection

One effective petting opportunity per animal per day is recorded. Exact point gain and numeric display scale are unresolved.

Animal Care

Mood

Maximum Mood is a Contest condition. Cow Ghost can prevent maximum Mood while present, without proving an Affection reduction.

Cow Ghost

Feed and grazing

Accepted feed, quantity, missing-care penalties, pasture substitution and Pig Truffle grazing are unresolved.

Care boundaries

Capacity

Coop, Barn and Horse Stable capacity belong to the housing authority. Do not infer compatibility from a price or product.

Animal Housing

Normal quality

Higher Affection improves possible normal livestock-product quality. Exact livestock multipliers and thresholds are unresolved, so crop 1.25x, 1.50x, 1.75x and 2.00x values must not be copied here.

Quality and Branding authority

Whistle convenience

Resolving Cow Ghost teaches the Livestock Whistle, which calls nearby owned livestock. It does not directly raise Affection, establish a product bonus or prove a numeric range.

Livestock Whistle guide

Contest readiness

Livestock Contest and Horse Contest are not interchangeable

Submit the animal itself for Livestock. Horse has its own division and unresolved Horse-specific thresholds.

Entry

Animal, not product

Milk, Egg, Wool, Cashmere and Truffle are products. They are not substitutes for the individual animal entry.

Livestock S Rank

Maximum Mood + Affection 5

At maximum Mood, Affection 0 to 1 maps to B, 2 to 4 to A and 5 to S. Cow Ghost can block the Mood requirement.

Horse

Separate division

Horse is judged separately. Do not apply the livestock rank table to Horse until Horse-specific values are confirmed.

FAQ

Livestock questions

What livestock can I buy?

The live database contains Chicken, Duck, Turkey, Cow, Sheep, Goat, Cashmere Goat, Pig and Horse. Some entries are progression-gated, and the exact condition is shown per species.

How long do animals take to grow?

The shared species records show Chicken 5 days, Duck 7, Turkey 10, Cow 14, Sheep 10, Goat 10, Cashmere Goat 12, Pig 10 and Horse 20. Product collection begins after the adult stage; cadence is listed separately.

Do all animals produce every day?

No. Chicken, Duck, Cow, Goat, Pig and Horse are daily. Turkey Egg and Wool are every 3 days; Cashmere is every 5 days. Rare Bird Feather is separate from normal product cadence.

How do I unlock Goat, Pig, Turkey and Cashmere Goat?

Goat follows Livestock Contest participation, Pig follows Livestock A Rank or higher, Turkey follows S Rank with a Chicken, and Cashmere Goat follows two Livestock S-Rank results in the current patch-sensitive record. Chinana mail is a separate delivery step.

Do colored chicks have special stats or products?

Seven colored chick variants are sold at the Summer Festival. Their special production or stat effects are not documented, so they remain separate variants rather than invented mechanical species.

Does Affection guarantee better products or S Rank?

Higher Affection improves possible normal product quality, but exact livestock multipliers are unresolved. Livestock S Rank also requires maximum Mood and Affection 5; Horse uses a separate division.

Does Pig need to graze to find Truffle?

Truffle production is daily in the current species-specific record. Whether Pig must graze outdoors, where Truffle appears and whether pasture replaces Feed Box feeding remain unresolved.

What is the fastest livestock money route?

The repository does not establish a universal profit ranking. Compare purchase cost, growth, cadence and your downstream uses without treating an unverified Pig-over-Cow opinion as a rule.

Shipping and removal

Routine products are not an animal-shipping pool

The current repository does not publish a complete sale, removal or random-material pool for live animals.

Routine production

Egg, Milk, Wool, Cashmere, Truffle and Horse Tail are the documented routine product relationships. Their cadence is shown in the product cards above.

Shipping or removal

Beef, hide, horn and other animal-material theories are not promoted as Cow or other livestock routine outputs. A complete removal mechanic and product pool remain unresolved.

Random semantics

No probability, trigger, replacement result or guaranteed material quantity is canonical here. Do not sell or plan around an invented random table.

Catalog and completion

Track forms, variants, products and interactions separately

Catalog and achievement counters belong to their own authorities; this page only exposes the livestock relationships that help you plan.

Catalog targets

Use the Catalog authority for animal forms, seven colored chick variants and product registration semantics. The database keeps juvenile and adult IDs distinct.

Catalog authority

Milestones

The current milestone model records 500 animal interactions and 1,000 collected livestock products. Exact category inclusion follows the milestone authority.

Milestone Awards

Roadmap role

Livestock is one phase in the 100% Completion Roadmap. It does not publish a global completion percentage or replace the Catalog checklist.

Completion Roadmap

Mode and postgame

Shade is the live baseline

Do not copy current livestock values into Village in the Sunshine or assume story clear creates a livestock shortcut.

Village in the Sunshine

Livestock is available at a high level, but prices, product cadence, quality, Contest, housing and future-stock parity remain unresolved.

Mode authority

Postgame

Postgame keeps existing livestock, Contest, Catalog, delivery and milestone systems available. No universal postgame timer skip, new quality tier or future livestock access is documented.

Postgame authority

Common problems

Quick troubleshooting

Check the source boundary before assuming an animal is bugged.

I participated in the Livestock Contest but Goat did not appear.

Check the separate Chinana mail and inventory refresh state; participation is the documented condition.

I earned one S result but Cashmere Goat is still locked.

The current patch-sensitive condition requires two Livestock S-Rank results.

I earned a generic S result but Turkey is locked.

Turkey specifically requires S Rank with a Chicken.

My max-Affection animal cannot reach S.

Maximum Mood is also required. Cow Ghost can prevent the Mood ceiling while present.

My Cow does not produce Beef or Horn.

Do not merge possible shipping/removal materials with routine Milk production; the material pool is unresolved.

Duck appears in both current and future notes.

The current Duck remains a live species where the shop record confirms it; the September 29 future listing is a separate date-bound entry.
