Village in the Shade Rule VI: Forest, Deer License & Bird Ghost Guide

Rule VI / 山からの声に応えるな / Do Not Answer the Voice From the Mountain follows Rokkaku and the Restaurant into the Deer License gate, Deep Mountain / 山奥, a changing Forest route and the Abandoned House / 廃屋. This is the story-route authority; it does not replace the general Hunting, Tools, Whistles or Map databases.

This page follows the current Japanese-release baseline. English names remain working labels until the Western localization is verified. The documented example chronology is separate from universal date requirements.

Rule VI in one screen

Prepare the story gate first, then respond to the Forest's environmental cues.

Reward

Story Sacred Treasure Whistle

Boundary that matters

Story whistle ≠ postgame time-stop whistle

The Rule VI reward is presented as a story-only/provisional whistle state. The functional Miracle Whistle / 奇跡の呼笛 is documented separately after story clear and works in the Garden only.

1 · Start

Start at Rokkaku's Restaurant

Use shared shop, schedule, Friendship and meal data instead of maintaining a second restaurant timetable here.

Start NPC and facility

Rokkaku / ロッカク

The strong current baseline starts with an event around Rokkaku Restaurant. Building access, business service hours and Rokkaku's physical presence are separate states; follow the shared records when a day or hour appears blocked.

  • Confirm the Sacred Treasure phase is available.
  • Confirm Rules V and VII are not the active route.
  • Complete the prior story bridge required by your save.
  • Check the Restaurant and villager schedule authorities rather than forcing a calendar date.

Flexible Sacred Treasure route

No Rule V prerequisite

Rules V, VI and VII are parallel choices. They can start in different orders, but once one route is active the other two cannot progress until the active route is complete.

If nothing starts: check the route lock, the Rokkaku event, Restaurant/building access and preceding story state before waiting for Autumn 24.

2 · Required before Deep Mountain

Buy the Deer Hunting License

This is a story-access requirement, not merely a hunting convenience.

License ≠ Certificate

The Deer Hunting License opens the Rule VI story-access path. A Deer Hunting Certificate is a separate hunt-result/submission concept and does not satisfy this story gate.

The shared data does not establish that you must buy Boar, Bear or another previous license first. Do not infer purchase order from price order, and do not claim that the player must hunt a deer to trigger Rule VI.

Later preparation: the Watering Can belongs to a later fire sequence. It is not a replacement for the initial Deer License gate, and no minimum tier is published.

3 · Deep Mountain

山奥 and 山奥の大橋 are Rule VI, not Rule V's Mountain Pass

Keep Deep Mountain / Forest separate from 峠 / Mountain Pass, the Rule V route.

First Deep Mountain visit

With the Deer License and active Rule VI story state, enter the deep-mountain bridge route, continue toward the house and follow the daytime event. This first visit is a story introduction and is not automatically the Forest maze or the Bird Ghost arena.

Second Forest phase

A later Yuta-linked phase returns you to the bridge. The route becomes visually distorted; inspect the environment and follow the newly changed cues until the Abandoned House appears.

4 · Full Forest solution

Follow the changing environmental clues

The puzzle reacts to state changes. Do not memorize compass directions without checking what changed on screen.

Step 1

Continue along the path

Inspect the available signs, discarded items and nearby objects before advancing.

Step 2

Use the changed sign as the state cue

The sign changes appearance and becomes red.

Step 3

Down, then right

Move down to reset the previous state, then check the right-side route.

Step 4

Take the right path

A human-like face appears on the large rock.

Step 5

Take the upper path

A discarded TV/trash-area object glows on the upper route.

Step 6

Take the left path

A streetlight on the left route glows.

Step 7

Enter the house

The route ends at the Abandoned House / 廃屋.

Quick route

Inspect available objects → follow the changed/red sign → down to reset → right at the face-rock cue → up at the glowing TV/trash cue → left at the glowing streetlight → Abandoned House.

The sign's changed appearance is not only a color instruction: look for the state change. Exact object count and an exact button sequence are not claimed.

5 · Abandoned House

The hallway loop is intentional story progression

廃屋 / Abandoned House is not currently a separate normalized map entity in the repository.

Loop

Corridor → fusuma room → corridor

Repeated returns to the hallway and fusuma sliding-door room are part of the scripted route. Keep entering the available room transition until the scene changes.

Fire

Water the fire, then continue

A later corridor/room state catches fire. Use the Watering Can to extinguish it; the repository does not verify a tier, capacity, hit count or cooldown.

Watering Can reference →

Midnight boundary

Not automatically a Midnight loop

Rule VI is presented here as a scripted story route. Do not wait for Midnight unless your actual save exposes a separate eligible event.

Time and sleep boundaries →

6 · Boss

Arena and safe sequence

  1. Expect fire on the arena floor/room state.
  2. Use the Watering Can to extinguish the fire and create a usable approach space.
  3. Refill at the reported buckets in the room corners; exact count and quantity are unknown.
  4. After the fire-breath opening, attack with the source-supported weapon method available to your version.
  5. AppMedia reports three successful Bow hits; exact HP, damage and cooldown data are not published.

RepositoryBoth tools existNo Bird Ghost combat record proves whether one or both work.

7 · Completion

Finish the route through the next-morning event

Do not treat the boss arena alone as the final story flag.

Boss defeat

Resolve the Bird Ghost sequence after the fire and attack opening.

Next morning

Yuta's next-morning event is the documented bridge into the story reward state.

Reward boundary

Learn the story Sacred Treasure whistle state. Exact persistent inventory transition and route-lock flag are not exposed.

Completion wording: Rule VI is complete when the boss sequence and following Yuta story event resolve. The repository does not prove that simply leaving the arena releases the Sacred Treasure route lock before that event.

Troubleshooting and boundaries

What to check when Rule VI stalls

No restaurant event

Check the active Sacred Treasure route, the Rokkaku event, building/service access and shared schedules. Do not force a date.

No Deep Mountain access

Verify the Deer License itself, not a Deer Certificate, and review the Hunter Lodge unlock condition.

Forest feels random

Inspect available objects and follow the newly changed cue. The route is state-reactive, not a fixed compass maze.

Hallway repeats

Continue the corridor/fusuma sequence. Repetition is intentional until the fire/event state changes.

Fire cannot be cleared

Bring a usable Watering Can. A minimum tier, exact capacity and interaction count are not verified.

Whistle seems different

Check the story/postgame distinction in the Whistles Guide and the Garden-only scope in Postgame.

Mode and post-route access

What this page does and does not unlock

The repository separates general location records from story flags that are not yet normalized.

Shade

This is the current Japanese-release Shade/source baseline for Rule VI.

Sunshine

No separate Rule VI parity, boss behavior or whistle-state verification is published.

Forest and Abandoned House

The general Forest location is owned by Map/Locations. Dedicated bridge/house IDs and persistent revisit flags remain unknown.

Lost Books and Machine Parts

Use their specialist authorities. Existing Forest relations do not prove that Rule VI completion releases every collectible or Machine Part.

FAQ

Rule VI questions

How do I start Rule VI?

Begin the Rule VI event around Rokkaku's Restaurant after the Sacred Treasure routes are available. Rules V, VI and VII are parallel routes, so Rule V is not a universal prerequisite.

Why can I not enter Deep Mountain?

Check the Deer Hunting License, story state, Rokkaku/Restaurant event availability and whether another Sacred Treasure route is already active. Autumn 24 is an example date, not a universal gate.

Where do I buy the Deer Hunting License?

Buy the Deer Hunting License / シカ狩猟免許 from the Hunter Lodge. The shared repository record lists ¥10,000 and does not prove a previous-license purchase chain.

How do I solve the Forest puzzle?

Inspect the available objects, follow the changed sign state, reset downward, then follow the face on the right rock, the glowing TV/trash cue upward and the glowing streetlight to the left.

Is the Abandoned House hallway loop a bug?

No. The repeating corridor and fusuma sliding-door room sequence is intentional story progression. Continue through the available room transitions until the fire state appears.

What tool is needed for the fire?

Use the Watering Can during the later Abandoned House fire sequence. The repository does not verify a minimum Watering Can tier.

Should I use a Bow or Sickle against Bird Ghost?

Current sources conflict: AppMedia documents Bow openings, while Gamecap reports Sickle openings. This guide presents Bow as the primary documented method and Sickle as an alternate report, without claiming both are interchangeable.

Does Rule VI unlock the postgame Miracle Whistle time stop?

Do not assume that. The story whistle and the postgame Miracle Whistle remain separate repository records. Garden-only time stop is owned by the post-story postgame guide.
