Hunting progression authority
Hunting Licenses & Hunter Lodge Progression
Hunting Licenses are purchased from the Hunter Lodge and determine which wild animals you can legally hunt. A successful hunt produces a Hunting Certificate, which is submitted back at the lodge for meat, bones and species-specific materials. Some licenses also have progression uses beyond hunting, including story access and a future shop unlock.

1 · Unlock the system
How to unlock the Hunter Lodge progression
Use the Helping event as the gate; do not replace a multi-day tutorial with a fixed calendar date.
Shiroji Helping Task
Learn trapping and hunting
Event ID: shiroji-spring-help. Follow the squirrel trap tutorial, check the trap on the following day, report back and continue the event sequence.
What opens
Licenses and traps
The canonical Helping rewards say “Hunting licenses become purchasable” and “Traps become purchasable.” That is the documented system-level Hunter Lodge gate.
Where to go
Hunter Lodge
The facility/shop ID is hunter-lodge. The full opening-day schedule belongs to the Shop Schedules Guide.
The walkthrough also says license purchase lets the player proceed deeper into the mountain. The exact controlling license, area ID and whether the Hunter Lodge unlock itself owns that flag are not isolated, so this guide keeps opensAreaIds empty and the area relation explicitly unknown.
2 · License rules
How Hunting Licenses work
A license is permission and progression access, not a consumable used up by each hunt.
One license per target species
The live shop has one species-specific license row for each of nine wild-animal IDs. The current data does not document a generic license, a price-based rank ladder, or a prerequisite chain between license purchases.
License ≠ hunt counter
Buying a license does not count as a Bow Hunt, Trap Hunt or Milestone Award. Keep purchase progression separate from the hunting statistics owned by the Hunting Guide and Milestone Awards Guide.
Permanence is not normalized
The model stores permanent: null. There is no verified repository rule for renewal, refund, repurchase, loss or missability, so do not treat a license as consumed per animal or call it permanently missable.
Area access is a separate relation
Every live license currently has an empty opensAreaIds array. The deeper-mountain connection is documented as a progression note, not assigned to an invented area or a guessed first license.
3 · Live Hunter Lodge stock
All 9 Hunting Licenses
Prices, names and species IDs are derived from the canonical Hunter Lodge license stock. Inventory order is not an unlock order.

4 · License vs Certificate
A hunt produces a Certificate, not another License
Keep the two progression objects separate in both your inventory and your mental model.
License
Permission / progression unlock
Purchased from the Hunter Lodge. It identifies the animal access needed before a hunt and may have story or future-shop relationships.
Certificate
Proof of a successful hunt
Generated by the Bow or Trap hunting loop, then taken to the Hunter Lodge submission box for materials. Chief Deliveries accept materials, not Certificates directly.
Bow
Hunt → Certificate
After hunt resolution, a supported animal can yield its Hunting Certificate. Exact hit counts remain in Hunting.
Trap
Resolve → Certificate
Releasing or resolving a trapped animal produces the same Certificate concept. Placement and timing remain in Hunting Traps.
Canonical status
Count: null
The repository has no normalized Certificate records yet; the external reconciliation baseline contains 12 named entries.
5 · Certificate rewards
Certificate → Hunter Lodge materials
The table below preserves the current material baseline while clearly marking the fields that still need canonical Certificate IDs and exact quantities.
| Certificate | Animal / variant | Material rewards | Canonical status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Squirrel Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Squirrel | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Rabbit Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Rabbit | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Weasel Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Weasel | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Tanuki Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Tanuki | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Fox Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Fox | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Pheasant Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Pheasant | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Boar Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Boar | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Boss Boar Hunting CertificateBoss variant | Boar | Same material category as the ordinary species is the current baseline; exact Boss reward items and quantities are not normalized. | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Deer Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Deer | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Boss Deer Hunting CertificateBoss variant | Deer | Same material category as the ordinary species is the current baseline; exact Boss reward items and quantities are not normalized. | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Bear Hunting CertificateOrdinary variant | Bear | Not recorded | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
| Boss Bear Hunting CertificateBoss variant | Bear | Same material category as the ordinary species is the current baseline; exact Boss reward items and quantities are not normalized. | External reconciliation baseline; item ID and quantity: null |
Boss rule: Boss Boar, Boss Deer and Boss Bear remain separate Certificate variants in the baseline. Do not add better quantities, higher rarity or unique Boss materials until a canonical reward record confirms them.
The current baseline uses repository wording where it exists, including Rabbit Pelt, Weasel Pelt, Pheasant Decorative Feather and Bear Pelt. Shared material IDs remain null when the source request records do not provide one.
6 · Submit Certificates
Where and when to submit
Bring the Certificate back to the same canonical Hunter Lodge facility; this page only summarizes the schedule boundary.
Destination
Hunter Lodge submission box
Service shop ID: hunter-lodge. Follow the Bow or Trap guide for acquisition steps, then return here with the Certificate.
Closed days
Monday / Tuesday
The submission service inherits the current Hunter Lodge schedule summary. Plan a turn-in for an open day.
Unknowns kept honest
Batch and consumption: null
Whether batch submission, immediate reward delivery, inventory-full handling or Certificate consumption occurs is not separately confirmed in repository data.
Shop hours are summarized here only. See Shop Schedules for the broader vendor schedule, and use Chief Deliveries after the lodge gives you materials.
7 · Hunter Lodge inventory
Gear sold at the Lodge
Use the dedicated guides for placement and fishing mechanics; this page keeps the inventory relationship compact.
| Gear | Price | Classification | Detailed guide |
|---|---|---|---|
Crab Potcrab-pot | ¥500 | Fishing-adjacent; not a normal land trap | Open guide |
Snare Trapsnare-trap | ¥700 | Hunting | Open guide |
Box Trapbox-trap | ¥700 | Hunting | Open guide |
Hunting Baithunting-bait | ¥60 | Hunting | Open guide |
Snare and Box Trap
Both are Hunter Lodge hunting gear. Their target matrix, placement, timing and limits belong to Hunting Traps; this page does not duplicate unresolved weekly trap mechanics.
Hunting Bait ≠ Fishing Chum
Hunting Bait has stable ID hunting-bait. It is distinct from the fishing bait/chum records; do not substitute Fishing Chum, Good Chum or White Chum.
8 · Downstream progression
Deer story gate and Pheasant future unlock
These are the two license relationships currently strong enough to publish beyond basic hunting access.
Rule VI
Deer Hunting License required
The canonical rule-6 walkthrough starts around Rokkaku / the Restaurant and says to use the Deer Hunting License for the deep-mountain / abandoned-house route. This is a direct story requirement; do not replace it with “any large-animal license.”
Future · 2026-09-29
Pheasant License → 11 Camp items
The Pheasant License itself is current/live in Hunter Lodge stock. Only its downstream Camp-series furniture unlock is future, at the General Store after the September 29 update.
Open Shop Inventory UnlocksThe Pheasant announcement remains outside current inventory counts and acquisition instructions. See the Furniture Guide for the separate future catalog boundary.
9 · Materials loop
License → Hunt → Certificate → materials → Chief Delivery
Hunting Certificates are turned in at the Hunter Lodge; Chief Deliveries receive the resulting materials, not the Certificate itself.
1 · License
Buy the target species license from Hunter Lodge.
2 · Hunt
Use Bow or an appropriate trap.
3 · Certificate
Resolve the hunt and receive the proof item.
4 · Materials
Submit at the lodge, then reserve materials for deliveries.
Small materials
Small Game Meat ×5; Small Animal Bone ×5
Rare small
Rabbit Pelt ×2; Weasel Pelt ×2; Pheasant Decorative Feather ×2
Large materials
Large Game Meat ×5; Large Animal Bone ×5
Rare large
Boar Tusk ×1; Deer Antler ×1; Bear Pelt ×1
These quantities are the shared Chief Delivery requirements, not claimed Certificate drop quantities. Open Chief Deliveries for the delivery authority. Game Meat can continue into Smoker, aging and cooking workflows.
10 · Troubleshooting
Common Hunter Lodge blockers
Check the data-backed boundaries before inferring a hidden price tier, boss license or after-hours service.
Ver.1.09 trap boundary
The current patch record marks broken/uncollectable traps and multiple animals entering one Box Trap as fixed. Do not advise intentionally holding multiple animals or reproduce the old workaround.
Mode and postgame
Sunshine-mode differences, Safe Mode story behavior, postgame availability and missable status remain null in the current authority. See Postgame for broader ending boundaries.
FAQ
Hunting License and Hunter Lodge questions
Where do I buy Hunting Licenses?
Buy the nine current species-specific Hunting Licenses at the Hunter Lodge after the Shiroji trapping-and-hunting Helping sequence opens the stock.
Is a License the same as a Hunting Certificate?
No. A License is permission/progression access. A Certificate is proof generated after a successful hunt and taken back to the Hunter Lodge for materials.
How do I get a Hunting Certificate?
The current hunting loop supports both Bow hunts and Trap resolution. The exact hit counts and trap timing belong to the Hunting and Hunting Traps guides.
Is the Deer License needed for story progression?
Yes. The canonical Rule VI walkthrough requires the Deer Hunting License for the deep-mountain / abandoned-house route.
Are Boss Boar, Boss Deer and Boss Bear separate licenses?
No boss-license items exist in the canonical shop stock. Boss variants are represented as separate Certificate variants in the reconciliation baseline, not as invented license rows.
Are Hunting Licenses permanent?
The repository does not yet normalize one-time, renewal, refund or repurchase semantics, so permanence is explicitly unknown rather than assumed.
When can Certificates be submitted?
The submission service uses the Hunter Lodge schedule summary: 10:00–17:00, closed Monday and Tuesday. Outside-hours behavior and batch semantics are not separately normalized.
What unlocks future Camp furniture?
The Pheasant Hunting License is the current license-side dependency for 11 Camp-series furniture items planned for the General Store after September 29, 2026. The furniture unlock is future-only.
