Crafting Guide: Workbench, Blueprints & Machines

Crafting builds objects from learned Workbench recipes. Processing is a separate machine interaction that turns inputs into outputs over time.

Use this page to understand the route, find the right authority and troubleshoot missing recipes. It intentionally does not duplicate the full Workbench, blueprint, Shrine or Processing databases.

Materials alone do not unlock a recipe, and owning a finished machine does not automatically prove that its Workbench recipe is learned.

Blueprint sources

A learned blueprint is not the same as its materials

The source family is a compact map only. The Blueprint Sources guide owns the full provenance records and unresolved conditions.

Finished machine boundary: an earlier progression reward may provide a finished machine before its Workbench recipe is learned. Do not infer “received machine equals learned blueprint.”

Each card names the canonical machine family, its unlock family and its specialist authority. Exact materials, timers, capacity and upgrades stay downstream.

The upgraded source says “1 day”; the repository does not normalize whether that is a reduction or a fixed cycle.

Special cases

Base machine and upgrade sources can differ

Do not flatten separate provenance records into one universal Shrine rule.

  • Brewing Barrel: an earlier Sazanka Helping Event may provide a finished machine or related reward, while the Repair Stage 3 Shrine node owns the Workbench recipe.
  • Pickling Barrel: the base blueprint belongs to Chinana's Helping Event; the upgraded Pickling Barrel is a separate Shrine progression record.
  • Mill: the canonical public English label is Mill, with stable ID mill. “Grinder” is not a second machine entity.

One input, five canonical processors

This map is generated from the shared processing routes, so a missing edge fails validation instead of silently becoming stale.

FAQ

Crafting questions

Short answers preserve the important system boundaries without duplicating specialist databases.

Crafting has two gates: learn the blueprint, then build the object at a Workbench with the required materials.

Use the Workbench for unlocked object, machine, utility and selected furniture recipes. Exact materials belong to the Workbench guide.

Materials alone do not unlock a recipe. Check the Blueprint Sources guide, Shrine Skills, Helping Events, story progression and other recorded source families.

The Shrine is a major source, but Helping Events, story progression, shops and special rewards also appear in the canonical provenance records.

Not automatically. A progression event can provide a finished machine before the related Workbench recipe is learned.

No. Pickling Barrel and Beehive have Helping Event blueprint records, Sap Collector has a story source, and Brewing Barrel keeps a separate Helping reward relation alongside its Shrine Workbench recipe.

Use the Workbench guide's canonical recipe browser.

Use the Processing guide or the individual machine specialist page.

Miso uses the Aging Barrel, Tofu the Milk Processor, Natto the Pickling Barrel and Beer the Brewing Barrel. The Machine Finder below is generated from processing routes.

No. Cooking owns learned dishes and cooking facilities; Workbench crafting owns objects and equipment.

For exact Workbench materials, open Workbench. For blueprint provenance, open Crafting Blueprint Sources. For processing routes and value, open Processing. Cooking dishes remain on Cooking.
